Meeting Minutes for Saturday March 14th, 2026
Introduction: Dee Dostaler (W7DEE) welcomed everyone. Raffle tickets were distributed.
Financial: Dee gave the financial report as Craig (KG7SIJ) was out of town.
Minutes: Dee circulated the sign-in roll. He indicated that the February minutes have been
posted on the club website, K7UB.org, for review. They will not be circulated at the meeting
anymore.
Testing: Bob (AA7TR) gave the results of the licensing test session conducted immediately after
the February meeting. One new Technician license and one new General license were earned.
ARES: The Utah Section manager will conduct an HF net for ECs only will be on 28 Mar at 0900
on 40 meters. The Digital Communication Conference held 28 Feb presented a lot of
information on MESH. It did not appear to be a viable system for emergency communications.
Membership: Dues are due now for this year. Four new memberships were collected.
Elections: Dee called for nominations for all four club officers. There were no nominations
from the members present. Dee then nominated Sharon Christenson (KE7HJP) for Secretary,
Craig Thomas (KG7SIJ) for Treasurer, and Clain Burt (KK7MHO) for VP. He asked Sharon and
Claine to say a few words about their background so the members would know a little about
their qualifications for their respective offices. By default, Dee agreed to continue as President.
As there was only one candidate for each office, Bob (AA7TR) called for approval of the slate of
nominations by acclamation. The members present confirmed that with a hand vote.
Club Documents: A final draft of the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws have been posted for
a month on the Club website under the INFO tab for review. Dee explained that these
documents are needed to register the club as a non-profit which would make it eligible for
grants. The Articles was the primary document which, when approved, would be difficult to
change or amend. The Bylaws shows the details under which the club would operate from day
to day and would be much easier to change or amend. He asked for a motion to approve both
documents while allowing a grace period of 30 more days for members not present to provide
any additional comments. The motion was made by Claine, KK7MHO, and seconded by Bret,
KG7RDR. The members present confirmed approval with no dissenting votes. Bret did make
one comment that the documents should include wording that highlights the goal of providing
educational opportunities.

VHF Society Swap Meet - 28 Mar at the Legacy Center in Farmington.
Brigham City Emergency Preparedness Fair - 28 Mar. Claine, KK7MHO, volunteered to
